Westfield Hurstville celebrated the role senior citizens play and the contributions they make to the local community with a week of activity hosted on centre court.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for us to not only recognise and celebrate our local senior community, but to bring them together and provide the chance to make new friends or get together with old ones while doing something a bit different and fun in centre.

“We hosted numerous activities to appeal to our community’s wide-ranging cultural backgrounds including games to stimulate the mind such as briscola, chess, mahjong and backgammon, as well as performances and workshops including belly dancing, ballroom dancing, rouli ball exercises, salsa dancing and styling workshops,” says Michele Lok.

“3 Bridges Community Services also had a team in centre with a pop-up cart providing information on personal support, social groups and home care information which was another touch point to connect our community. We received a great response with thousands of customers enjoying the festivities.”
